A Mindful Art Club hosted by mental health professionals meets at Plymouth Central Library on 17 September 2026. Participation is free, with an option to pay £8.00.
A supportive art group offering creativity, company, and mindfulness, hosted by two mental health professionals.
Mindful Art Club is a free, weekly group, in a private room, upstairs at Plymouth Central Library, Plymouth city centre.
There is no art experience required! Friendly and informal.
Connect with others and discover new ways of practising self-care through easy art and mindfulness exercises. Practice being here in the present moment, and accept where you are right now, without self-judgement. We also invite some inspiring guest speakers to the groups to talk about local services and charities, or their personal experiences of mental health recovery.
The group is hosted by Emma Sprawson and Peggy Melmoth. They are the founders of Mindful Art Club, and have a background of working for many years in addiction treatment centres in Plymouth. Emma is trained in mindfulness and other complimentary therapies, Peggy is a BACP registered therapeutic counsellor.
This group is made possible by funding from The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, but booking is essential as this group is popular.
Mindful Art Session
We start with a brief chat about how everyone is feeling, then a short guided mindfulness session, followed by a simple art activity that anyone can do. Our mission is to make mindfulness more fun! We’re not teaching art techniques, we’re just here to play.
Places are limited, so if you cannot attend please let us know and we can offer your place to someone else.
We also offer other supportive, weekly, community groups and paint and sip evenings in the Plymouth area, in Devon, UK.
