Discover Filey's fishing past through drawing, storytelling and creative zine-making this October half-term!

Have you ever wondered what life was like growing up in a Filey fishing family over 100 years ago?

Join us at Filey Museum for a fun, hands-on creative workshop where we'll explore the everyday lives of Filey's fishing families.

From waking up in a fishing cottage and getting dressed for a day by the sea, to preparing the fishing boats and bringing home the catch, we'll take inspiration from Filey's fascinating fishing heritage.

Using stories and inspiration from the museum's collection, children will create their very own mini-zines – little handmade books filled with drawings, comics, stories and interesting facts!

We'll explore five moments in the life of a fishing family, using them as inspiration to draw, write and create our own illustrated stories.

Whether you love drawing, making comics, telling stories or simply getting creative, this workshop is a chance to try something new and make something uniquely yours.
