Find out how to capture an era in writing. Bring past decades to life using memories, music, objects and photos (IN ORCHARD SQ AND ONLINE)

Please note: This workshop will be run in the Writers Workshop in Orchard Square, Sheffield, and also online on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. It is suitable for beginners who are interested in writing about their memories, as well as people who are working on memoirs, poetry or any other form of writing.

Vividly recreate a significant era in your life, whatever your age! Bring back the sights, sounds, smells, tastes and textures of decades past in your own words using creative writing exercises that stimulate your senses and bring you back in touch with the things that shaped you. Whether you were a child of the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or the early 2000s, we'll all find something in common in this fun session.

This session is suitable for everyone of any age, including beginners. This workshop is intended to spark your creativity and come away with several pieces of writing you can develop further.

Bring along something that reminds you of a significant decade in your life e.g. a piece of clothing, an iconic toy, or a favourite piece of music (on any format) to talk and write about in the workshop.

The session will be fun, interactive, and sensitive to everyone's needs.
