A short circular walk exploring the rich history of Deepcar and Stocksbridge

The Upper Don Trail is a planned 23 km walking, cycling and horse riding trail from Sheffield centre to the Peak Park at Langsett. Missing sections are being promoted at Oughtibridge and Deepcar. This short walk for Heritage Open Days explores recent new connections at Deepcar. It will reveal the rich history of Deepcar and Stocksbridge by following the Little Don arm of the Trail from the new Wharncliffe Park estate to Fox Valley and back, including pre-historic industry, legendary dragons, forgotten mines and newly opened sections of the trail.
