The average person is keeping thirteen secrets at any one time, five of which they have never shared with a soul. Social historian Juliet Nicolson joins Poorna Bell to explore the secrets women keep: the ones they are forced into, the ones they carry through shame and the ones they share. Spanning decades from the ‘silent generation’ of the 1950s to today’s influencers, they consider what the things left unsaid reveal about our changing times – and what happens when women who have been silenced finally find their voice.
