From rivalry and loyalty to resentment and intimacy, family relationships shape who gets seen and who gets pushed to the edge of the narrative. From Shakespeare’s tangled families to Succession, from Austen and Dickens to the warm, messy domestic worlds of Ann Patchett and Elizabeth Strout. Presenter and producer Catherine Carr and authors Liv Little and Esther Freud explore why sibling relationships make such powerful stories and what fiction reveals about the bonds that shape us.
