Join us on a free guided walk of Hazard Railway as part of Links with Nature's Wild Wanders programme. Theme: Exploring Autumn!
Join us on Friday 23rd October from 10:00am - 12:00pm for our next Wild Wander: Exploring Autumn at Hazard Railway!
We will be taking a walk around Hazard Railway, led by Engagement Officer, Mary-Anne. The theme of this walk is Exploring Autumn - in celebration of the changing of the seasons. During our walk we will keep an eye out for signs of Autumn - from colour changes in the canopy and which fungi are starting to emerge, to the songs of resident birds. All ID materials including guides and lenses will be provided.
Please meet Mary-Anne at the site entrance just off of Grange View, East Rainton (what3words//////whoever.skinning.sized) for 10am. Free but limited on-street parking is available on Grange View. Mary-Anne will then lead the group into and around the site, returning to the meeting point for 12pm. Alternatively, attendees have the option of travelling to/from the site with Mary-Anne in the Links with Nature minibus, departing and returning to Rainton Meadows. If you would like to join the minibus, please book your space and email Mary-Anne at marielly@durhamwt.co.uk. We will be leaving Rainton Meadows at approximately 9:45am and returing at approximately 12:15pm.
Everyone welcome - no prior experience or knowledge necessary! Under 18s are also welcome, provided they attend with a parent or guardian. We kindly ask that no dogs are brought along to Wild Wanders, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed-toed shoes, long sleeves and long trousers are advised.
