Drawing Inspiration: The Mindful Line is a free drawing workshop at The Burrell Collection in Glasgow on 11 October 2026. The session focuses on art and wellbeing, teaching drawing techniques without requiring prior artistic experience.
You don't need to think of yourself as "an artist" to join us. In this free workshop you'll pick up real drawing techniques from celebrated nineteenth-century artists working from a clothed life model to explore tone, colour and media while discovering how drawing steadies a busy mind. Deep concentration anchors your attention in the present and tips you into the state psychologists call flow: a simple, dependable way to ease stress and lift your mood. All levels welcome, whether it's your first time drawing or a long-loved practice, everyone can benefit from picking up a pencil and having a go! This session will take place from 2 pm – 4 pm.
