About This Event

Styling Smallhythe: From the functional to the unconventional brings a display through Smallhythe’s rich collection, charting the evolution of women’s fashion from the late 1800s into the 1900s.

Through Smallhythe’s rich collection, the display charts the evolution of women’s fashion from the late 1800s into the 1900s.

Using a range of objects including clothing, photographs and paintings, some which have never been displayed before, we explore changing attitudes towards women’s clothing and the lives of some of Smallhythe’s unconventional residents.
