About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera at 57 Haymarket, London, is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical about the Phantom, hidden beneath the Paris Opera House, and his love for Christine Daaé. The production uses his score alongside scenery and special effects to tell the story of this tragic romance.

It first opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986, with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the lead roles. Since then, it has become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, won 70 major theatre awards and been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes including one interval. Performance times: Monday to Friday at 7.30pm; Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. All visitors aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

Your confirmation email will include your e-ticket. Please print it and bring it with you on the day. You are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance start time, and you may also need to present valid ID.

No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. In the Stalls, rows N to S have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
