Karin Brauner will present an interactive workshop on 2 July 2027 that introduces an integrated supervision framework combining five established theoretical models. The session explores how these perspectives can complement everyday clinical practice. Tickets start from £1.00.
What happens when five established supervision theories are brought together and applied to the realities of everyday clinical practice?
In this interactive workshop, Karin Brauner introduces the integrated supervision framework developed through her years of supervision practice, research and reflection — and featured in her new book, In-Depth, Reflective Clinical Supervision: A Dynamic Supervision Framework.
Rather than replacing established supervision theories with another new model, the framework brings together five influential approaches:
- Hawkins and Shohet's Seven-Eyed Model
- Stoltenberg and Delworth's developmental model
- Page and Wosket's cyclical model
- Inskipp and Proctor's functions of supervision
- Scaife's focus on responsibilities within the client–therapist–supervisor relationship
The workshop explores how these different theoretical perspectives can complement one another and become something practical: a framework for thinking about what is happening in supervision, what the supervisee may need, and how we can support ethical practice, professional development, reflection and client safety.
You will explore:
- how the five theories contribute different perspectives to supervision
- how they can be integrated rather than treated as separate theoretical boxes
- the practical elements that emerged from this integration
- how the framework can be applied to real supervision and counselling situations
Expect theory, practical examples, reflection and plenty of opportunities to think about how supervision actually works in the room.
This workshop also marks the launch of Karin's new book, In-Depth, Reflective Clinical Supervision: A Dynamic Supervision Framework.
You don't need another theory to memorise. You might just need a different way of seeing how the theories you already know can work together.
