About This Event

Ellie is bringing the healing vibrations of the planet gongs to the magical "Lost Village of Dode". Come for a transformational experience.

About Dode:

Dode is more than an ancient building, for it is a far older place than perhaps we can imagine, it’s beginnings go back into the mist of time. If you walk into the meadow surrounding the building you will see that it is build on a substantial mound which is man-made. The hill which totally surrounds and shelters the building has been known from time immemorial as Holly Hill and it is approached by a narrow roadway which goes nowhere, its ancient name is Wrangling Lane. Here then are the clues to a site of deep antiquity, for Holly Hill is a corruption of Holy Hill and the name Wrangling Lane indicates that here on this mound may well be the site of a Moot or Meeting Place perhaps going back thousands of years.

The mound stands at the end of a ley-line which stretches to the east for some 10 miles, exactly upon this line stands three Pre-Reformation Churches, two Roman sites, a Bronze Age Burial Ground and two of the Medway Megaliths, the Coffin Stone and enigmatic Little Kits Coty.

What happens during a sound bath?

Despite the name, there is no water involved. The word bath refers to being immersed in the sounds and vibrations of the gongs and crystal singing bowls.

How should I prepare?

Wear comfortable, warm clothing and, if you like, bring your favourite woolly socks and a bottle of water to help you feel extra comfortable. You'll be lying on a yoga mat for the duration of the sound bath. Bolsters and blankets are available, but you are welcome to bring your own to support your comfort.

What should I expect?

During a sound bath, you may experience dream-like imagery, see colours, or simply enjoy a deep sense of rest. Some participants notice physical sensations such as tingling or warmth, or become more aware of areas of tension or discomfort, which may gently soften or ease as the sound journey progresses. These experiences will vary from person to person, and may also differ from one session to another.

Emotionally, you may feel peaceful, joyful, reflective, or occasionally tearful. Whatever arises, you're encouraged to meet it with kindness and without judgement.

Most people find the sounds of gongs and crystal singing bowls relaxing and meditative. Occasionally, however, you may find that a particular sound feels uncomfortable or evokes an unexpected response. If this happens, you may wish to simply return your attention to your breath, body sensations, or a gentle mantra. You're always encouraged to listen to your own needs and adjust your position or take a break if that feels right for you.

Contraindications:

Every person's experience of a sound bath is unique. Many people find sound baths deeply relaxing, restorative and supportive of their wellbeing. However, a sound bath may not be suitable for you if you:

• experience tinnitus or sound-triggered epilepsy;

• are in the first trimester of pregnancy;

• are currently receiving, or have received within the past six months, treatment or medication for a significant mental health condition (please contact me to discuss your individual circumstances);

• have a pacemaker or certain implanted medical devices or metal implants.

Comfort:

There is a bathroom in the Church. Please bring plenty of layers to stay warm and maybe a flask of chocolate or herbal tea for afterwards. In case of any allergies, please note that there is straw on the floor of the Church for decoration. Dode is a small venue and participants will be in close proximity.

Please bring your own mat and blanket where possible. Some spares will be available.

Parking:

There is a limited amount of parking available at the Church. Where possible, please drive with friends.

A Note from Me:

Above all, this is an invitation to rest, to meet your experience without expectation, and to offer yourself gentle care and kindness. It is my sincere wish to create a nurturing space where you feel safe, supported, and able to simply be.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss whether a sound bath is suitable for you, please do get in touch. I would also love to hear your feedback following the session.
