The Yoga Tree in Norwich will host a play and presence workshop on September 12th, 2026, at 1.15pm. The event explores movement, mindfulness, and human connection. The price for attendance ranges from £12.50 to £15.00.
A workshop exploring movement, mindfulness and human connection
Modern life makes it easy to lose touch with our bodies, our sense of play and our connection with other people. Play & Presence is an invitation to step out of your usual routines and rediscover all three in a welcoming, carefully guided environment.
Play & Presence is a gently guided workshop that combines mindful movement, playful group activities and embodied awareness practices. Together, we'll explore how movement, curiosity and even a bit of silliness can help us reconnect with ourselves, with others and with the simple experience of being present in our bodies.
There’s nothing to get “right”.
Play has a unique way of helping us become more open, curious and connected. When we stop worrying about getting things right, it often becomes easier to relax, explore and relate to one another in new ways.
The aim isn't to perform or to achieve anything, but to create the conditions for exploration, connection and playfulness. Over the course of two and a half hours we'll move through a series of individual, paired and group activities. The workshop begins with simple practices that help you arrive and settle, gradually opening into playful movement and opportunities for connection before closing with a deeply relaxing guided meditation.
Whether you're completely new to this kind of workshop or already have an interest in wellbeing practices, you'll be welcomed into a supportive environment where everything is introduced gradually and participation is always by invitation.
Some activities involve gentle physical contact with other participants, always with clear guidance and consent. Alternatives are always available, and you're encouraged to participate in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
You don't need any previous experience of meditation, movement or mindfulness, just comfortable clothes and a willingness to be curious.
Many people arrive unsure of what to expect. Here's what a few of them said afterwards:
"Really loved the structure, the range and variety of movement, and Robin's guidance was gentle, clear and made me feel safe and held."
"Very grounding and did not make me feel self conscious which these kind of things have a tendency to do."
"I had no idea what to expect from the workshop. I had mixed experiences with meditation in the past but I loved it and want to come back to future sessions."
"I found I enjoyed the movement much more than I expected. I was a bit out of my comfort zone with the touch at first, but with a bit of humour it actually felt lovely!"
"Robin held a beautiful space for those who attended… it felt intimate and safe to be yourself."
