Stefan Charidge leads an experiential webinar on four-chair work on 14 November 2026. The session allows multiple aspects of a client's internal world to be brought into relationship. The process focuses on projection, dialogue, and transformation to address therapeutic impasses.
**An Advanced Experiential Webinar for Experienced Chair Work Practitioners & all interested**
Four-chair work offers experienced chair work practitioners the opportunity to explore a deeper and more complex level of experiential therapy. Building upon the foundations of two-chair work, this advanced process allows multiple aspects of the client’s internal world to be brought into relationship, creating new possibilities for awareness, movement, and integration.
At its core, four-chair work is a process of **projection, dialogue, and transformation**. A sensation, belief, person, event, or part of the self can be placed into the chair, allowing previously hidden or unresolved material to become visible and accessible.
Four-chair work can be particularly valuable when a therapeutic process appears **stuck, blocked, or unable to move forward**. By introducing additional perspectives and emotional positions, the practitioner can help uncover what is preventing change and support the client in accessing new understanding, resources, and possibilities.
This advanced experiential webinar explores the relationship between the **four core archetypes and emotional energies**, providing practitioners with a framework for understanding deeper patterns within the client’s experience. Participants will explore how different parts of the self may conflict, protect, or support one another, and how these internal relationships can be transformed.
Throughout this workshop, participants will explore:
- The evolution from two-chair work into four-chair processes
- Four-chair work as a more complex form of projection and integration
- Working with the four core archetypes and emotional energies
- Identifying blocks, unfinished business, and fixed gestalts
- Recognising what lies beneath the client’s spoken narrative
- Supporting movement when therapy has reached an impasse
- Developing confidence in facilitating deeper experiential work
This is an experiential and skills-focused workshop designed for practitioners who already have experience with chair work. Participants will have opportunities to observe and explore four-chair processes through demonstrations, personal experience, and case material.
Four-chair work requires more time and the practitioner to hold a more complex therapeutic space—one where multiple emotional energies, perspectives.
