Drawing on Jungian analytical thought, we'll use the lives, dreams and poetry of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes as a rich case study, tracing how the demon lover complex and shadow dynamics moved through their relationship and their creative work. Participants will leave with a clearer framework for recognising these patterns — in literature, in the consulting room, and in their own inner life — and a deeper appreciation of how shadow work can restore self-knowledge rather than distort it.

I will bring some lines from Sylvia Plath, a bit from her Journal describing her and Ted Hughes, and describe how they demon lovers and shadows of each other, intensely and destructively.
